Description:
It provides an access to the airway through the tracheostomy hole.
It has an anatomical design that makes its introduction and manipulation simple .It is made out of biocompatible silicone and it is radiopaque and very malleable. It is provided with two intravenous cannulas for alternative use, thus making cleaning very simple.
It is a simple cannula, hygienic and effective.

- Secondary access to the airway.
- Upper airway obstruction.
- Severe thyroid or cricoids cartilage injuries, hyoid bones or great vessels.
- Neck severe subcutaneous emphysema.
- Facial and jawbone fractures.
- Control of excessive secretions of the respiratory tract.
- Prevent aspiration of oral and gastric secretions.
- Preparation for head and neck invasive procedures.
- Severe sleep apnoea not susceptible of CPAP or others.
- All the tracheostomy ones.
Due to the characteristics of the production process, the measurements of the devices can vary by +/- 2%.
- Sanitize the skin with an antiseptic solution.
- Keep the neck in a hyperextended position.
- Use a viscous lubricant.
- Insert through the tracheostomy hole.
- Fix to the neck with the provided bandage while maintaining a sufficient tension so that a little finger can pass between the bandage and the neck.
Skin cleaning:
- Change the gauze interposed between the pavilion of the cannula and the skin, at least once a day.
- Sanitize the skin with an antiseptic solution.
Intravenous cannula cleaning:
- Remove the Intravenous cannula.
- To do this, take the precaution of affirming the pavilion of the tracheostomy cannula in contact with the neck, while performing the extraction manoeuvre of the intravenous cannula. In that way, you will prevent an accidental removal of the cannula.
- Then introduce the additional intravenous cannula provided.
- Wash the extracted cannula with soaped and warm water.
- You can use a smooth brush to remove incrusted secretions from the cannula’s interior.
The product should not be reused because this can cause cross contamination.
